Welcome to "Arcanes Portis Aveo"

Our home.  What does it mean?  Arcanes means secret or hidden.  Portis means haven or home and Aveo means Happiness and Good Health.  Now I ask you what  better name could I have picked for my Home.  Secret Haven of Happiness and Good Health.
Sadly I have noticed a couple other sites that have used my name for their site.  What they are selling has nothing to do with the meaning of each word.  Hey, that just goes to show some people just grab on to something and have not history, feelings, or meaning to what they are doing. !!


This is our Pest in the morning.  Normally I do not want any animal in my kitchen especially on my cabinets or table.  Well as you can see Eleanor is sitting on my table.  At least she isn't stretched out, or cleaning herself.  Yuk!  What a silly girl she is.  I put up with her so long then down she goes.  What is really cute is she races to my bedroom, jumps on the bed and sleeps for the rest of the day.  What a kitty !

2012 A New Year !!

I took this pic last fall just before the leaves started dropping.  I think it is so unique.  It's in my yard and this spring I am going to have a table and chairs setting under it.  I'm sure it has some stories to tell and I just might be able to coax it to share.  I'm going to  be listening.
The sun is shinning bright right now.  I live in Northern California and sometimes it does get a little nippy out.  We have had to cover some of our plants from frost and so far we have saved them.  Hoping to have a small garden again this year.  I always love tomatoes.  This year I also had pumpkin, they were small and I have to say I really enjoyed them. 

Just had to put this picture in again.  Can you see the bird with his wings spread out ?  It's just above the goat.  I did not realize I got this image until my husband was looking at the pictures.  WOW!  I was taking the pictures of all the birds in our yard as they have nests on the side of the house.  I'll put another pic up so you can see more.  Enjoy and Happy New Year !!

 Isn't this just cool !  I love the birds in the yard and am so glad they want to build their homes here with me.  We love seeing the babies with their little mouths open waiting for Mom.

This year I will take a picture of the nest and babies as long as it does not stress the Mothers .
