Camping !

Isn't this a cute cabin.  It had everything you would want and then some.

Love it and had a great time at Manchester State Beach.
The beach wasn't too far away and we even watch a Bocche tournament as our Daughter-in-law and Granddaughter and Son were in.  What fun they had as they had never played it before.

Hope to go back next year.

Mendocino and Back Yard

 First time at Beach !  Look at that hand.  He was fascinated with the sand and ran up and down the beach without a care in the world. Love it !

 At the top and bottom is my back yard.  I wanted to get out earlier but did not make it before the sun was shinning brightly. I do like the sun but not on pictures.  Dawn and Dusk are the best of times.

See my beautiful lavender ?  It has really taken off.  I have 3 more planted around the yard and they all bloom at different times.  Thanks to Jim for watering all of the plants.

Swimming Pool Fun

We are getting our exercise in the pool and we stay cool at the same time.  It is refreshing to slide in the water and feel the coolness surround you.  Especially on these hot summer days.  Yes I am wishing for fall weather.  It is just too hot!  I want the 70's all the time.  Hawaii maybe ?  They say after a couple months you really miss the Mainland.  I'm sure that is true but I would sure like to give it a try.  Tootles

Morning Coffee

A nice spot in the morning for coffee.  We do enjoy being outside especially in the morning very early.  We have been out there by 5:30 but mostly by 6:30 or 7.  The air just smells so good, the dew is still on the ground, it's cool and the birds have a lovely song just for Jim and I.  Life is Grand !  So live it.  Tootles

San Francisco !

 Just coming into the City and what a city it is.  You know I say I would love to live there but until you actually do, you can't say if you would like it.  I think that I would but I wouldn't want to be on a steep street.  I'm sure I would not be able to walk on it.  I know there are flatter streets as I have been on some of them.  To live up stairs in an apt. and come down and maybe go around the corner to a market and pick up dinner Now that would be wonderful.  Then if you worked a block the other way Well, that would be the icing on the cake.  Hey, I can dream can't I.  Even though I am pass the age of working, not that I couldn't work but I am no spring chicken.

So that is why you dream, and wish when you were younger you thought about where you would really love to live.  What kind of climate, surroundings, people.  What would you like, no love, to do for work.  That is, to earn a living.  I'm afraid that wasn't thought of at all.  In my next life I will do that.  I don't know if it will work out the way I think it should but I"m going to try.  I figure the things I am not happy about in this life then next time I will change things up.  Make sure I have the basics down pat and go from there.  San Francisco sounds good to live in now to figure out the work.  Something I would love to do.  Well who knows in my next life but for sure I want to have things figured out.  Not a rigid schedule but one where living, working, are things I love.  I will let you know when it happens and tell you if it works.  Wish me luck !   Tootles

Aguava ?

 What about this plant.  It sits by the road next to my Sons property.  There have been people who have stopped and asked him if he cared if they cut off some of the stems as I guess the cook it.  He said it wasn't really on his property so he really had no say.  Well, as you can see the stem coming out of the middle of it which we have never seen this happen before.  So because of the internet we were able to look it up and they explained out the stem would branch out and bloom.  So we were watching it daily to see just what would happen.  Well, a couple of days from when I took the pictures someone came at 1:30 in the morning  and chopped half of it down.  I can't even take a picture of it it looks so bad.  It just makes you sick.  I can't believe someone would do such a thing, just leave it and drive away.  The reason I know the time is the neighbor across the street happened to be up at that time, heard laughter and talking and looked out his window and saw what they were doing.  By then the deed was done and soon after they drove off.  I am just glad I did get some pictures

of it.  We find out it was a plant they make the aguave sweetener out of.  I do use it a lot in cooking but did not realize I had that plant right in front of me.

Back Yard Fun !

I had so much fun making my sign.  How fun it is to make things with your own hands and display them in your yard.  I know you can go buy this stuff but lets face it it's too clean and you don't have the memory of what was happening while you were doing it.  Anyway I do have fun in my yard.  So get out there and listen to the birds and smell the roses.  Tootles

Rooster !

This is just one of our Roosters.  The colors are beautiful and boy can they crow. We do enjoy them but just have to keep them apart from each other. Talk about not playing well with others !!!

What we do love is our chickens.  They are chatty and scurry around in groups.  Sounds like they are discussing the latest gossip.  Who knows, I just know I enjoy them and love their eggs.  Aren't we lucky !  Tootles

Picture from my Past

This picture hung on the wall above the daybed which was in my Grandma and Grandpa's house. I bet it hung there for at least 50 years.  I would lay on the daybed and pretend I was that girl.  I also had dark hair, brown eyes and wanted desperately to have a jumper and blouse like that (never did). My Grandparents lived on a farm and the outdoors east of the house looked like that. I'm sorry the flash showed in the pic and will redo it as you can see the picture is kinda rough.  Because it was so torn I shellack it on a board and am keeping it like that but hope to preserve it in a photo.  It brings back such wonderful memories of stay at Grandma and Grandpa's farm.  I stayed from the time I was in 3rd grade until I was 13 for a week every summer.  I also stayed a week during that time at my other Grandma's house who lived in the nearby town.  How very lucky I was.  Tootles

Spring ! Yes !

Just wanted to show one of the plants in my yard and the cool berries on it.  Actually they are NOT berries and are not edible but they do look very cheerie.  Don't you agree ?  It sure brightens up the yard.  It's great to look around the yard and you see signs of life coming out on a lot of the plants.  Oh, how we love new beginnings, Monday mornings, the start of a new day, and especially new seasons.
     Now the sweet cat on the left is my sweet Elviria.  How she loves the sun and stretches out when ever she can.  Love my plant behind her and the smell is wonderful.  Tootles

The City

Another beautiful home in San Francisco or I should say 3 in the picture.  Who would have thought That color would work but Work it does especially in The City.  There is nothing better than taking a ride around the City and seeing all the houses.  Their imagination is endless.  I was wrong there is something better......being able to walk up the stairs and call it home.  Hello !    Tootles
